|Abstract:||Joint consultation machinery in the fore of Works Committee has been provided under the provisions of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947. Objectives of theme: i To gunge the efficacy of the Works Committee ii To examine the reasons for their success or failure iii To find out the attitude of management and trade unions towards joint consultation iv To examine whether the committee has outlived its usefulness. Scope of the Study: Three units were selected for the purpose of the study: Unit A - An organisation where no union exists but only a Works Committee does. Unit B - An organisation where both unions and Works Committee exists. Unit C - An organisation where the Works Committee started functioning about 10 months ago and where two unions exists.|
