Abstract: The role of women in society has changed with commercialisation, modernisation, and industrialisation. This has opened new avenues of employment and brought about transformation from traditional modes of production to the modern modes of industrial development, where entrepreneurship could play a crucial role in the sustenance and maintenance of family livelihoods in the low-income segment. In the present study effort has been made to identify the barriers, role of training and support services, motivation and stress patterns among women entrepreneurs from the low income group in microenterprise sector
