The papers in this volume represent primarily theoretical perspectives studied with respect to human resdurce management, social psychology and personnel I management. In doing so, we emphasise the essentials of management that are pertinent to the effective work of practicing managers. The scholar feels that conceptual I principles hold the key to a better understanding of the realities of any situation.In developing a framework in which management knowledge can be organized in a -useful and practical way the area human resource management deals primarily with significant, contemporary issues in selection research, criterion development and participative management. Each of the above mentioned papers, at the outset, defines the key terms in the major paper topics and then branches off to deal with particular problems elucidated in the objectives and analytical framework. Emerging trends and concepts are also reviewed.
