|Abstract:||MGNREGS was a social welfare programme of UPA government. It provides social security and assurance of 100 days of employment in each budgetary year with the lowest pay permitted by law work to each family whose grown-up individuals are prepared to do incompetent manual works. It's a poverty alleviation programme which arrests labour migration in rural areas. However, in the study area, MGNREGS does not assume a noteworthy part in the diminishment of labour migration (Hirway, 2004). There are not much employment opportunities, and agriculture is not very productive where farming is the essential wellspring of wage for the vast majority of the households. The greater part of the general population is poor cultivators.|
