Abstract: This research study attempts to articulate women’s experiences of cyber-misogyny especially on Twitter, and problematize the dichotomy that exists between the ‘online’ and the ‘offline’. It attempts to juxtapose women’s real and virtual experiences of misogyny and harassment, not with a purpose to compare the two but to emphasise that the effect of online harassment on a woman’s sense of security, needs as much consideration as the harassment that she faces in other spheres of life.
